Aluminum Gangways
Product Description

Aluminum Gangways by Superior Docks are lightweight, durable answer to flotation system access needs. Quality design and craftsmanship are backed up with years of experience in aluminum gangway fabrication. The tubular aluminum handrail system is combined with proprietary extruded aluminum shapes to provide a strong, lightweight system. Proprietary extruded aluminum planking adds to the overall strength and durability of the product.

Available in 16' to 50' lengths in widths up to 60". Other sizes may be available upon request.

Materials

Handrails are fabricated from 6061T6, 1 ½" dia. aluminum pipe. Deck support rails are fabricated from 6005T5 proprietary extruded shapes. Decking is 6" wide extruded 6005T6 aluminum. Two 3" dia. x 5 7/8" UHMW rollers are provided on the lower end of each ramp. Stainless steel pins transfer loads from the aluminum frame to the rollers. Gangways are provided with a proprietary hinge at the upper end.

Loadings

• Gangways: Designed to sustain a uniformly distributed load of 100 p.s.f. on ramps to 40' up to 48" wide and 60 p.s.f on ramps over 40' to 50' up to 48" wide.
  
• Handrail: Designed for a 250 lb. concentrated load applied from any direction at any point.
• Wind Loading: Designed for a wind load of 15 p.s.f. on exposed surfaces
• Hinge and Roller System: Designed to carry the dead load plus live load capacity of the gangway.

Note: Gangways are not designed to restrain the lateral movement of the lower support floating system. Purchaser shall insure float is securely restrained by alternate measures.
